Aug. 29, 2023–Entries are now open for the 2023 WIHS Regional Horse Show & USHJA Zone 3 Championship presented by TTR Sotheby’s International Realty and the Lowham-Ruzzo Family, taking place October 19-22, 2023, at the Salem Farm Showgrounds in Upperville, VA.

The popular four-day competition will offer a variety of hunter, jumper, and equitation classes, including exciting qualifying classes for the 2023 Washington International Horse Show. Entries close Monday, October 2.

TWIHS Regional Hunter Finals Return
After a three-year absence, the WIHS Regional Hunter Finals will return to the Washington International Horse Show, on Monday, October 23. Approximately the top 20 horses and 15 ponies in the WIHS Regional Hunter and WIHS Regional Pony Hunter divisions at the WIHS Regional Horse Show will qualify for the WIHS Regional Hunter Finals and WIHS Regional Pony Hunter Finals at The Show Place Arena.

MHSA Gittings Horsemanship Finals and MHSA Horsemanship Contest
The Gittings Finals will again be held at the WIHS Regional Show. Qualifiers will be notified
in early October. MHSA will host a horsemanship contest at the Regional show. The contest, which will be divided into three age groups, young juniors, older juniors, and adults, includes a written test and a hands-on horse practicum.   • USHJA Zone 3 Championship including Hunter Breeding Championship
  • Grand Championships for Green Hunter, Children’s and Adult Hunters, and Children’s Hunter Pony, and Adult Jumper
  • New trophy for Grand Champion Adult Jumper, The Papillion Peanut Perpetual Trophy donated by Wendy Libert
