Olympic Competitors to Shine at the 66th WIHS, Presented by MARS Equestrian

The 66th annual Washington International Horse Show (WIHS), presented by MARS Equestrian™, is set to return, from October 21 through 27, 2024. This year’s event promises to be thrilling as it features an impressive lineup of esteemed Olympic competitors riding alongside highly ranked international horses and riders from around the world, showcasing the best of equestrian sport. WIHS has long been recognized for its rich history of world-class show jumping and is excited to have a stellar cast of riders this year.  This year top riders will be competing throughout the week for a coveted spot to attend the Longines/FEI Jumping World Cup Finals in Basel Switzerland in April 2025. 

Among the expected attendees are renowned riders McLain Ward, Laura Kraut, and Kent Farrington, who were all selected members of the 2024 Paris Olympic Team with Laura, McLain and Karl Cook bringing home the team Silver Medal in Jumping. The string of 2024 Paris Olympic show jumpers continues with accomplished international competitors like Daniel Bluman from Israel, Shane Sweetnam and Daniel Coyle from Ireland, and Brazil’s Rodrigo Pessoa.  

Alongside this group is Richard Vogel from Germany, making his debut at WIHS after a strong performance at the Olympics. Additionally, past Olympic participants such as Abdel Said from Belgium and Margie Goldstein-Engle from the USA will add to the competitive spirit of the show. 

In addition to top-tier competition, WIHS offers an engaging atmosphere for equestrian fans and the local community. Attendees are invited to partake in beloved traditions such as WIHS Barn Night, WIHS Military Night, World Cup Night, and WIHS Kids Day!
