Meet Sharon Lynn Campbell
WIHS Official Artist Sharon Lynn Campbell is best known for her beautiful oil paintings featuring horses, pets and their owners. She prides herself on being able to capture the personality of the people and horses, in great detail, on canvas to create memories that last a lifetime.
An avid horse lover and competitor all her life, Campbell spent much of her time at the family horse farm in Indiana where she developed a love of riding, training, teaching and showing. “I got my first horse, Clarence My Guy, when I was nine years old and by 17, I was riding and training up to 12 imported Warmbloods daily.”
As a young adult she moved to Northern Virginia and continued showing. It was not until after the birth of her third child, she decided to put her love of horses together with her love of art.
“I feel that creating portraits of the horses comes easy to me because of growing up around them. Their conformation and expressions are second nature to me,” said Campbell, a self-taught artist. “Horses were my way of life. I’m so blessed that they are still in my life and that I am able to paint portraits of them full-time in my Virginia studio. I truly love the wonderful reactions I get from my clients when unveiling a painting.”
Campbell, now a grandmother, lives in Rochelle, Va., with her husband, horses, cats and dog. Her work can be seen on the covers of major horse show programs and magazines and in hundreds of private collections, galleries, schools and businesses. Her work is also featured as stationary, greeting cards and limited edition prints.
Campbell specializes in private portraits by commission and meets clients for consultations at homes, farms and at some horse shows, and gets to know the true personality of the horses, owners and their pets. To learn more, visit: https://www.sharoncampbell.com/
