Upper Marlboro, MD, Sept. 23, 2022 — Are you ready? The Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) presented by MARS Equestrian™ is pleased to announce an exciting lineup of competition, contest and prizes for Barn Night 2022.

WIHS, in partnership with Green Is The New Blue, invites barns and other horse-loving clubs and groups to join in the fun on Barn Night, Thursday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md.

Barn Night competition features the $75,000 International Jumper Welcome Stake and the $37,000 Accumulator Costume class, where riders (and horses!) compete in costume not only for top ribbons, but also for a chance to win Best Costume.

  • Largest Groups
    • Prize for Overall Largest Group: Briar Hill Signworks Gift Certificate
    • Prize for each Largest Group from Maryland, Virginia, DC/Other: Dover Saddlery Gift Certificate 
  • Group Spirit
    • Show your spirit in your best blues, greens, ‘earth’ tones and recycled costumes!
    • Prize: Dover Saddlery Shopping Spree
    • All registered groups are eligible for the Group Spirit Contest.

 

How to Enter

  • First, register your barn or group to be eligible: Registration Form 
  • Get all the contest details and rules: Barn Night Packet  
  • Submit your entry by the deadline: Monday, Oct. 17 (entries limited to one per barn/group) Winners will be announced on Barn Night at WIHS and social media.
