The Washington International Horse Show is excited to announce that applications open on March 31 for the 2025 Junior Committee and Youth Ambassador program. WIHS is proud to continue its partnership with Signature One-to-One School, the sponsor of the Junior Committee. Signature One-to-One School offers traditional, college preparatory, fully-accredited school for students in grades 6 – 12, delivered via research-supported and personalized one-to-one teaching in all subjects. With a primary location in Wellington, Florida, a seasonal location in Ocala, and always online, Signature One-to-One School is today’s choice for exceptional educational options.
The WIHS Junior Committee and Youth Ambassador Program, established in 2009, provides local students with an opportunity to engage in event planning, marketing, media activities, while gaining hands-on experience in the equestrian event industry.
This year, 30 applicants will be accepted into the program, with three named Youth Ambassadors. Youth Ambassadors will lead one of three subcommittees and work closely with WIHS staff to help run the show. The 67th Annual WIHS will take place October 20-26, 2025, at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Applications for the program open on March 31, and close on April 25. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by June 2. The selected members will serve from June 9 to November 1.
Youth Ambassador Leadership Role
Three Youth Ambassadors will jointly chair the Junior Committee and lead an assigned subcommittee. Responsibilities will include preparing meeting agendas, creating talking points, and guiding Junior Committee members in fulfilling their tasks.
Junior Committee and Subcommittee Roles
The Junior Committee will be divided into three subcommittees, each led by a Youth Ambassador. The subcommittees are Marketing & Communications, Event Operations & Engagement, and Community Support & Sales.
Program Requirements and Responsibilities
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be local to the Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia.
- Be between the ages of 14 and 18 as of April 1, 2025
- Have an interest in the equestrian world and be comfortable with marketing and media
activities, including social media. - Youth Ambassador applicants should demonstrate leadership experience.

Signature One-to-One School is the year-round and seasonal “go to” academic team for equestrian student-athletes and families who prioritize education. From fully accredited, one-to-one school for grades 6 -12 through traditional subject tutoring, standardized test prep, college planning, and academic support for online students, no one offers more exceptional educational options for today’s student-athletes. During the Washington International Horse Show, Signature educators will be on-site at the Show Place Arena.
