WASHINGTON, March 1, 2016–Apply today for the experience of a lifetime working behind-the-scenes at the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS), one of the most prestigious equestrian sports and entertainment events in North America. Each year, through an application process, new members are selected to join the WIHS Junior Committee.

This great group of teens from public, charter and private schools in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., works with the WIHS management team over the summer and fall and during the show to help prepare for the week-long event.
Use your creativity and teamwork on a variety of projects from planning the WIHS scavenger hunt to taking photos of the WIHS mascot for social media. Take on important roles during show week such as tour guide, press escort, Snapchat takeover, and share your equestrian knowledge to help educate show visitors about horses and horse sport.
If you are also interested in a position of leadership and are well-versed in the equestrian community, consider also applying to become the 2016 WIHS Youth Ambassador. The WIHS Youth Ambassador chairs the Junior Committee and represents the show’s youth perspective to the media.
Applications are now being accepted for the WIHS Junior Committee and Youth Ambassador Program. Applicants must be students between the ages of 14 and 18 enrolled at local Washington, D.C.-area schools. The deadline for applications is Friday, April 1, 2016.
