Age: 21

Britta Stoeckel, a 21-year-old equestrian from Chicago, Illinois, began competing competitively at the age of 12.  Britta currently stands at the top of the WIHS Rankings (7/23/21) for the WIHS Adult Jumper division with 4,919 points.  The point difference between Britta and the rider in 2nd place is 1,272 points, wow!  Britta and her leased horse, Everest De Muze, are on their way to qualifying for the 2021 WIHS Adult Jumper Championship.  The division championships will be held Oct. 29 at Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Creek, N.C.  We hope to see Britta and Everest De Muze in attendance!

Insider Info on Britta:

Q: Where do you go to school?
A: I am a student at Northwestern University.

Q: How did you get into riding?
A: My mom rode, and she’s my biggest supporter.

Q: What is your biggest accomplishment at a horse show?
A: At The Devon Horse Show I was the 18-35 Amateur Owner Hunter Reserve Champion.

Q: How many days do you spend at the barn per week?
A: 4-6 days

Q: How long have you been training at Rivers Edge?
A: Four years 

Q: Where do you usually compete?
A: Winter Equestrian Festival, Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, and Kentucky. 

Q: Tell us about Everest De Muze.
A: Everest is a 17-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding and I have been riding him for two years.

Q: Have you been to WIHS in D.C.?  If so, what is your favorite event?
A: Yes, and my favorite thing about the horse show was the Shetland pony races!

Q: What do you do when you’re not at the barn or showing?
A: I play with my dog if I’m not working or doing schoolwork.  I have barely any free time.
