Tina Dilandri, riding Chanel 292, wins top Junior Jumper Honors at 2007 WIHS

(Washington, DC) October 13, 2007–The Washington International Horse Show concluded The King-Kaplan Family Junior Jumper division this afternoon with the Senator’s Cup class. During the first round, eight riders completed the course without faults, forcing a highly competitive jump off.

Tina Dilandri on Chanel 292 was the first rider to tackle the jump off course, setting a quick pace of 29.781 seconds. Her time held throughout the round, with only three other riders jumping cleanly. Clementine Goutal, the only rider who qualified for the jump off on two different horses, finished second and third on Kelline Fonroy and Rastella, respectively. Kelline Fonroy posted a time of 29.794 seconds and Rastella completed the course in 31.063 seconds.

Following the Senator’s Cup class, the Junior Jumper Champion was announced. The Senator’s Cup winner, Tina Dilandri earned the title aboard Chanel 292. Dilandri placed second in the Junior Jumper (TFJO) class, sixth in the Junior Jumper (TFR) class, and first in the Senator�s cup, to post an overall score of 16 1/2 points out of 30 possible points.

The Reserve Champion, with a total of 14 points, in the Junior Jumper Divisions was Catie Boone riding Naleida. Boone placed first in the Junior Jumper (TFJO) class, third in the (TFR) class, and ninth in the Senator�s Cup.
