KIND WINS AWARD

The Kind Wins Award was created to celebrate someone or a group who brings attention to anti-bullying and spreading kindness within the equestrian community. 

The award recipient will be notified in early October and will be honored at the 67th WIHS in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Criteria: 

  • An individual person, group, or organization can be nominated.  
  • Self-nomination is allowed. 
  • The nominee should be someone or a group that has helped bring education and awareness on anti-bullying to the forefront in the equestrian community. 
  • The nominee must be within the equestrian community. 
 
2025 Kind Wins Award nomination period will be open in September of 2025.

2024 KIND WINS AWARD WINNERS

The 2024 Kind Wins Award winners are Sue Chambers a Maryland based trainer who runs Quinn Haven Stables, and the Kindness Movement founded by young rider Izzy Baker and Paige Walkenbach. 

Sue Chambers has created the QHS Pledge to promote a safe riding space to all, at Quinn Haven Stables. All riders and their parents, have to sign the QHS Pledge to promote good sportsmanship. Each year all participants have to re-sign the pledge. 

The Kindness Movement, led by Izzy Baker and Paige Walkenbach, fosters empathy, sportsmanship, and inclusion within the equestrian world. They address bullying through social media by providing resources and support, especially for younger equestrians.

ABOUT WIHS

WIHS is an official USEF Heritage Competition, and holds a CSI5*-W rating, the highest awarded by the Fédération Equestre Internationale,the governing body of international equestrian sport, as well as US Equestrian ratings of 6* Jumpers and  Premier Hunters. It is recognized by the US Hunter Jumper Association, Maryland Horse Show Association, and Virginia Horse Show Association. WIHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
