The Kind Wins Award was created to celebrate someone or a group who brings attention to anti-bullying and spreading kindness within the equestrian community.
One award recipient will be notified in early October and will be honored at the 67th WIHS in Upper Marlboro, MD. The recipient will be awarded $2,500.
Criteria:
The 2025 Kind Wins Award winner was 10-year-old Isla Pippin of Berlin, Maryland. Isla was praised by her friends and fellow competitors for being “empathetic, supportive, and an all-around positive influence.” Her love for her ponies and her community, is seen through her never ending kindness to all.
The 2024 Kind Wins Award winners were Sue Chambers a Maryland based trainer who runs Quinn Haven Stables, and the Kindness Movement founded by young rider Izzy Baker and Paige Walkenbach.
Sue Chambers has created the QHS Pledge to promote a safe riding space to all, at Quinn Haven Stables. All riders and their parents, have to sign the QHS Pledge to promote good sportsmanship. Each year all participants have to re-sign the pledge.
The Kindness Movement, led by Izzy Baker and Paige Walkenbach, fosters empathy, sportsmanship, and inclusion within the equestrian world. They address bullying through social media by providing resources and support, especially for younger equestrians.
